Sadé + Shaniya’s initial plans for their capsule collection were to have a physical fashion show experience. Due to Covid-19 their plans had to change. I saw opportunity to create a runway experience that incorporated both physical and digital elements paying homage to their love of traditional runway and growing interest in the digital space. To achieve the futuristic jungle / House of Mirrors aesthetic I combined set design, real models, and 3D elements. Initially mocked up in Rhino3D, the set was created primarily using mylar paper to absorb and bounce light, as well as amplify the colors of the collection. Models were pre-recorded one by one. Using Adobe After Effects I edited the scenes into a full show with various transitions, music, and 3D elements (outsourced); including 3D models.
