ABOUT

Telfar is one of my favorite brands simply based on their genuinity and autonomy within the fashion industry - plus I’m from New York. This experiment came about when watching one of my favorite music videos, Say My Name by Destiny’s Child (1999). Outside of being a classic song, the video stands on its own with its retro themed monochromatic color sets - that start to move! It is a great visual reference and an ahead of its time concept. So where does Telfar come in?

Telfar is known for their classic “shopping bag” aka the “Bushwick Birkin” that comes in like 40 colors, not to mention the switch up in silhouettes - like the puff shopper and circle bag. In addition to the frenzy that comes along with securing a bag, the brand also has fun around releasing new colors. There’s cool names like “Corned Beef” and it’s more than clear that the excitement of the colors are apart of the accessory’s appeal. I thought the monochromatic set concept would be a fun activation for Telfar. So I mocked it up.
